Personal Statement
My name is Nicole Fortuna and I am currently in the process of transferring from Slippery Rock University. I am looking for an Art and or Business program more applicable toward my interests and more competitive volleyball. Just to give a little background on my athletic experience, I have been playing club volleyball for more than nine years as a setter, varsity volleyball for two years at North Royalton High School -Division I - (2013 Graduate), and two years playing for Slippery Rock University.
I am both an extremely hard worker on and off the court. Of the three semesters spent at Slippery Rock University, I achieved honors of being on the Dean's list every semester and also earning the award as a Scholar Athlete. Balancing both academics and playing an intensive volleyball schedule I maintained a 3.56 cumulative GPA. Just like I spend my time constantly on the court perfecting my skills I also spend a great deal of time on my academics either studying hard or in the art studio creating more work.
Academically, I am looking to continue my pursuit as an Art Major with a focus in photography. My long term goal is to become a freelance photographer and own my own business. I attended Cuyahoga Valley Career Center in the Media Technology course and throughout my two years in this program, some of the skills I developed are an understanding of photography, video and audio production technology and learning to create internet and interactive multimedia applications. At Slippery Rock University I was an Art Major with a photography focus. My experience in the photography field includes numerous photo shoots for local clients and freelance work.
Currently, I am working full time and taking courses at a Junior College. Furthermore, I am an assistant coach for the 15 Elite team at Academy Volleyball Cleveland (AVC)
Thank you for taking the time to review my profile.
