Sara Hassell '17 Recruiting Profile

Started playing volleyball in 6th grade as a way to make new friends, during my first season I started to love the sport. A sport that started out as a way to make friends turned into a huge part of my life. That same year I tried out for club ball and made the top 12's team. The more I played, the more I aspired to play in College.
     On the court I work hard to win, while making sure I'm a good team player. I am strong at blocking and hitting, and I’m always working to get better. I’m very hard on myself which pushes me to get better. I’ve played in many different positions; each position has helped me improve in different areas of volleyball.
As hard as I work on the court, I work just as hard in the classroom. My grades are good but, getting better, I overcome obstacles that get in my way. I was an ambassador for my grade. This year I was very involved in our literary magazine, I helped with our public relations. I also found an interest in making the sets for our plays, doing that helped me improve my team skills.
 I want to attend a collage that will push me with my studies as well as my volleyball skills. I want to find a collage where I can be myself but also branch out of my comfort zones. I want to become a person where younger girls can look up to me, as I did when watching collage players.
