Personal Statement
Hello!! My name is Alanna Vavao. I am a 5’10 OH/RH/DS Junior, from Bellbrook Ohio. I play on the 17 Black team at Elite VBTC, in Plain City OH. I have a 9’7” approach touch, a 9’0” block touch and a 7’9” standing reach. I consistently earn a 3.4-3.6 GPA, which includes AP/CP courses, and I am on the Honor Roll. I also play beach volleyball and plan to attend some 2022 beach tournaments. I used to play competitive soccer, basketball and dance. Once I started playing competitive volleyball, I knew I found my sport! My 2021 High School volleyball season was amazing! We placed first in the SWBL, with a 9-0 record & a total season record of 20-5. I was awarded SWBL Player of the Year, SWBL 1st-Team honors and OH D1 District 15 1st Team honors. A few of my favorite things about volleyball are the endless ways of improving, being able to make great friends, the ways my teammates can motivate me and I can motivate them. I believe I am a good teammate because of the determination, energy, strength, and hype I bring to the court. I love celebrating my teammates and being their own personal hype-man. Working together, to win, and working hard to create a good winning team is an awesome experience. I love a good challenge and hearing someone say I can't motivates me more. In my downtime, I spend time with family and friends, I stay active in the local young life and FSA groups, I enjoy baking, and I babysit to earn money. I have always enjoyed sports, so I am thinking of pursuing a career that involves sports. I want to attend a college or university that will allow me to grow in my faith, be challenged academically, discover new friendships and play competitive volleyball for a team that creates a supportive, competitive, motivational and family atmosphere.
