Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Parker Phenicie. I have been playing volleyball since third grade. I love the game, and I’m dedicated to always improving. I am committed to giving 110% on and off the court to improve my overall ability level. I seek out feedback from coaches so I can improve my skills and become a better player and teammate. I have been a captain for my team during multiple club seasons and school seasons. I am a leader on and off the court because I know building and boosting teammates confidence and helping teammates stick together through the good and bad plays, regardless of outcomes creates a fiercely competitive team family that continues to get better. I love being apart of these types of teams and overcoming what others feel is impossible. I have been blessed to experience these types of teams with my school teammates. I am seeking out a highly competitive college that continues to push me to be a better player and encompasses the same competitive drive. I work hard academically as well. I have a 3.9 GPA. I love the game unconditionally and the training that pushes my mind and body to be stronger. I have struggled in the past with accepting that making errors is a part of the game, but I have learned to embrace these mistakes and use them to propel me to be a better player every time I step onto the court. Training hard and working hard is a rewarding feeling. There is no greater feeling than training with my teammates and winning a huge game. I have promised myself that I will give every play on the court my full attention and effort always. I never want to look back on the time I get to spend on the court as a missed opportunity. I will give the same effort in the classroom, as well. I hope to work in the field of sports training or nutrition to help other athletes train their bodies so that they can reach their full athletic ability.
