Personal Statement
I started playing volleyball at the age of 11, and I knew right away that volleyball was my love and passion. At the age of 12, I started my volleyball career at my first club and my 7th-grade career I played for my middle school. My dream is to earn a college degree and play volleyball at the highest level. In order for me to accomplish this goal, I realize it will take a lot of hard work and dedication. I have learned through my parent’s guidance that anything is possible through hard work and determination.
I work very hard to excel in the classroom. I have a hectic schedule working out twice a week doing isokinetic exercises along with club team practice three times a week and school volleyball workouts and practices three times a week. This has taught me to manage my time both academically and athletically. I will be looking for a school that will fit both my academic and athletic goals.
I am a player that is very much coachable and wants to continually learn to become a better person and volleyball player. One of my strong points is my mental approach to the game. I enjoy the competition and want to be challenged at the highest level so I can gain the experience for matches and implement strategies that will not only benefit my performance but help the team.
By the end of my senior year in high school, I will have played seven years of club volleyball and four years of varsity school volleyball. Every summer, I attend a collegiate volleyball camp as well as taking private lessons during the summer to improve my skills. I am hoping that with the experience of both my high school and club volleyball on and off the court will help me make a smooth transition to the college game.
Thanks for giving me this opportunity to share my statement with you, and hopefully you have me on your radar so someday my dreams can come true.
