Lexi Stooksbury '24 Recruiting Profile

At first, volleyball was just one of many sports I began to play when I was young. Throughout the years before high school, I managed my time between maintaining a spot on a 2024 basketball watchlist, and volleyball, a sport I had only just begun to love. As my skill and passion for volleyball increased, I faced my first monumental decision. Choosing between a sport I was already getting recognition for, or a sport  I had grown to love. It definitely was not an easy decision; but, the choice was clear---the sport that I fully loved and could never imagine parting from was volleyball. Although I may have passed up great opportunities with another sport, I am positive that my passion for all that volleyball has to offer is one that I can’t ignore. Making this choice exemplifies my determination to pursue my goals, and follow my heart. I use this determination daily to balance my athletic and academic excellence. I’m not afraid of hard work whether it is in the classroom or on the court. I not only enjoy competing and pushing myself past my limits during games, but practices as well. I am always looking forward to more opportunities to further improve my skills and techniques. I’m someone who will stay longer after practice if it means getting in more reps.

Being a starting pin hitter, and sometimes a six position player on a national qualifying team,  I believe I have the talent and attitude to compete at a college level. Playing on a national  team since I was twelve years old, I am familiar with the different levels of complexity and competition the sport offers. Each year my determination to continue training and competing never wavers. I will apply this same level of effort, determination, and excellence to represent you and make a difference on your team.
