Personal Statement
EVERYDAY…YOU ARE EITHER GETTING BETTER OR GETTING WORSE.
YOU NEVER STAY THE SAME!!!
I have two older brothers that have had a great impact on my life. My oldest brother Chase knew as a freshman in high school that he wanted to attend and play football at Stanford University. In high school he put the time in and worked hard in the classroom and on the field. He went on to be a Consensus All-American and graduated with a master’s degree from Stanford University. From there he played for the San Francisco 49ers. My other brother Dallas always dreamed of playing professional baseball. He spent hours and hours working on improving his game. I was watching last year as he made his first major league start at Wrigley field for the Chicago Cubs.
Hard work pays off and always believing are the two things this has instilled in me and these are the things I want to instill in the people around me. I am a late bloomer as I have grown 3 inches in the last couple years. The hard work that I put in earlier is now paying off as I feel I have elevated my game greatly in the last year. I am now playing for the top club team in the state and won a state championship with my high school team this year and was selected to the state all-tournament team. I realize that being a late bloomer makes finding a university to play volleyball at harder because so many scholarships are already gone. But all that tells me is to put in more time and work harder so I can contribute and be a part of making whatever program I attend better. I will always try to motivate others around me by working hard and always playing the game with great enthusiasm.
