Hello, my name is Alexis Miller. I am a 16 year old junior at South Eugene High School in Eugene, Oregon. I am doing the International High School at South, this will be my 11th year studying french in the French Immersion program, and I am also doing full IB (International Baccalaureate). I have always loved to draw and am always trying to improve my skills so that one day I can make it into the animation industry. In other words, I would like to go into Digital Media and study Animation. A bit about my position; I am a 6'0" middle hitter/blocker. My freshman year I made varsity and started every game. I then made the top 16s team for Webfoot Juniors. We made it to the GJNCs and took first in the National division bronze bracket. Sophomore year I once again made varsity as a starter, and following that I made the top 16s team for the second time with Webfoot Juniors. We made it to nationals again, this time taking 5th in our division. That year was a turning point for me in terms of confidence and skill. My junior year I was a team captain on the varsity team. I had the highest hitting percentage on my team, averaging a .400. I was the only middle that year to make first team all league and was also given the award of most inspirational at the end of the season. I believe that I stand out from other recruits because of my deep passion and respect for the game and my drive to win. If my team is down I will find a way to rally them back together. I always give it my all when I'm out on the court no matter who I might be up against, because I believe that it's better to go out giving it 110% than it is to lose without even trying. In life, and in volleyball, I try to find the good in every situation, and when I have a goal in mind (whether it be academically or volleyball related) I do everything in my power to reach it. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and looking at my profile.
