Personal Statement

I love the sport of volleyball and am a great student as well.  My achievements are due to hard work and being able to recognize where I need to develop and grow.  My Club Volleyball team recently finished # 15 in the nation (as of 7/2014) and my high school team finished 2nd in State so playing at a high level under pressure is something that I enjoy.  This competitiveness carries over into the classroom as well.  I go to a private Catholic College Prep school which is very difficult but I still carry a 4.0 GPA.

I do want to play college volleyball but I have my sights set on a Business and then a Law Degree.  I believe that my character traits are suited well for this type of profession.

I believe that I will be a huge asset not only on the volleyball court, but at the university as well.  I am so excited to begin this adventure in my life!

  • Excel NW 16 Rox went into the Las Vegas tourney as the 159th seed in the 17's division. The first day of pool play we made it clear to the girls that we had to finish top two in order to advance. Hard work and determination helped the girls to accomplished that goal, finishing 2nd the first day in pool play. Day two of the tournament we had a three way tie in our pool and ended up coming out first due to point differential. At the end of pool play we were now seated 4th in the tournament. We had to play an evening game that day to determine if we were going to play the last day in the gold division or the silver division. It happened to be another 16 team from New Mexico who were undefeated. Our girls came to play. We could do no wrong as a team. It is such a joy to watch these girls when they are in the zone. We beat them in two games and were headed for the gold division! The last day of the tournament we played a 17 team from Houston. Tara Cross form the US National team back in the day was one of their coaches. We played well the first game, beating them 25-12, then lost 23-25 and fell short in the 3rd game 14-16. We finished our first experience at the Las Vegas Tournament tied for 5th in the 17 division. Not bad at all for a 16's team. We did not know what to expect at this tournament but, I have to say our team more than exceeded our expectations! Way to rock it girls!!!
