"It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog."
At 5'7", I know in many cases it's hard to be seen as an effective offensive weapon for a good college volleyball team. I was told by people growing up "you're too short to play for a good college," and at first I believed them. Then I remembered the above quote. After that I decided to dedicate my time to become a stronger player. Dedication and desire to achieve a goal can go a long way. I hope that any college or university can look past my height, and into the player that I am. I could make a great contribution to the success of any college's volleyball team if given the opportunity.
When I got to high school, I worked hard to earn a starting varsity spot and was able to do just that as a freshman setter. It was hard being a starting varsity freshman with four varsity seniors. There was little time to get up to speed with them, but I was able to do that quick enough to help our team get to county playoffs. My sophomore and junior years I was lucky enough to be a captain of our high school team and again go on to county and district playoffs. I also had the honor of winning all division setter both years and being named to the district 3 AA team my junior year. I'm looking forward to a great senior season at Fleetwood.
I have a very outgoing personality and am a good leader on and off the court, as a captain of my team, and as a class officer, FBLA officer, student council member, and National Honor Society member. I have had many leadership opportunities over the past few years and they have helped me become a better teammate, and person.
I also pride myself in my academics with a 4.0 GPA and being in the top ten percent of my class. Not only am I competitive on the court, but I am also competitive in my grades and also strive to do the best that I can. My future after college is the most important thing for me.
Please feel free to contact me. I also have more recent video that I have not had the chance to upload at this point, so if you'd like to see that, I'd be more than happy to send it upon request.
