Personal Statement
When I was young I would sit in the stands and watch my older sister play volleyball. I would always say, "when I get older I am going to play volleyball too." My dream started at the age of nine. Right away, I showed a natural talent for the game and was placed on a 12U team. Being tall did not hurt, so they stuck me in the middle.
I am competitive by nature, believe in hard work, dedication and teamwork. I was taught that I could do anything if I wanted it bad enough. Faith makes things possible not easy.
When I see an obstacle I overcome it. I struggled freshman and sophomore year, worked with my teachers and was identified with ADHD. I always just thought I had a lot of energy. Medication was prescribed and I found the focus I lacked, it was amazing. I am now an A student.
Upper Merion is currently ranked 5th in the State of Pennsylvania. We are ranked in first place in the American Conference and we want the State Championship this year. I believe we will be State Champions.
I want to be a teacher, the one that makes a difference, the one that makes a connection. I had such a teacher, I will never forget her. She took time to help me understand, she was patient, kind and let me know she cared. She encouraged me and taught me that hard work paid off. That is an important lesson and I want to be that teacher, the one they never forget.
I will probably end up being the volleyball coach too.
