Personal Statement
Hi,
My name is Megan Jacobi. I am a Junior at Nazareth Area High School, Nazareth PA. I have been playing volleyball for six years. As soon as I was introduced to the sport, I fell in love with it and developed a strong passion for the sport. In addition to playing on my school teams, I have been playing on club teams since I was eleven years old. My 13 team won a bid to attend the Junior National Championship and it was such a great opportunity and experience.
I was selected for the High Performance A2 team in Colorado Springs, CO. Also, during this past summer, I attended several college volleyball camps and trained at CorXcel working on strength and agility training. I also played in several grass tournaments in Pennsylvania. I won first place in quads for the second year at Sportsfest in Allentown, PA.
I am excited about starting my sophomore year in high school. I have been playing middle blocker since I was 12 years old. However, this year is a very exciting year for me. I am now starting as Outside Hitter on my high school varsity team. After playing middle blocker for so many years, I am excited to now have the opportunity to play all around and I know this will help to make me a better all around player. Also, I was voted Captain by my teammates and I am very grateful for this honor and opportunity.
I have always worked very hard academically and currently have a G.P.A. of 3.6. It is my dream to get accepted to a college where I can work hard to obtain my academic goals and play on a college team. Playing volleyball has taught me so many things, including leadership skills and discipline in order to achieve my goals and improve my skills. I have learned that working as a team supporting each other is one key factor in a team's success. I am ready to meet the challenges and to work hard to achieve my goals while making my dreams come true.
