My club team has had a very successful season. We started off strong, winning the PVA Invitational at King of Prussia, PA. After that, we won every other regional tournament we played in, except for an eighteens tournament in which we placed second. At the MEQ in Indianapolis, we were challenged by the different competition we faced. We did not do as well as we had hoped, but still held our original ranking. After more practice and training, we played better at the NEQ but continued to struggle against the great competition. The highlight of our season by far was at the Mizuno SPVB National Junior Classic in Chicago. We entered the tournament as the 16th seed and finished as the 5th seed in the open division. We knocked off the number one seed, Legacy, and took down several teams with open level bids to JO's such as Mintonettes. Throughout the tournament, my team played together as a unit which helped us earn the 5th seed. In addition, we also won our regional bid tournament, so we will be competing in Minneapolis at the national level. Personally speaking, I will also be participating in the HP Regional tournament in Tulsa, OK, representing the Keystone region. I will play as an outside hitter on the team. My transition from middle hitter to outside hitter has been very positive. It has given me the opportunity to sharpen my skills not only in attacking, but in defense as a six rotation player.
