Personal Statement
I am a 5’11” outside hitter and defensive specialist from Royersford, PA, and will graduate in 2018. I have played volleyball since I was 11 years old, starting out in my grade school’s CYO program. I have played for Club Integrity Volleyball since I was 12. For each of those seasons I was a 6-rotation player and served as either team captain or co-captain. I was a starter on the Pope John Paul II High School varsity volleyball team my sophomore and junior seasons, and was the only 6-rotation player on the team both of those years. Our PJP team ended the 2016 season ranked #5 in the state, and I was named to the All-Conference, All-Area, and All-District Teams.
Ever since I started playing volleyball in fourth grade, I knew it would be something I would want to continue to do for years to come. To me, when I am on the court, I can let go of all of my stress and focus on getting the next point. I have made some of my closest friends through this sport. I enjoy the strong bonds that are formed between my teammates and me.
In college I look forward to playing on a team that is as equally committed to excellence as I am, with players and coaches that will push me to continuously improve my game. The perfect college for me would be a place where I can pursue my interest in both Psychology and Art, with the ultimate goal of one day becoming an art therapist.
