My collegiate goals are to attend a university where I could become a member of the Volleyball Team, while pursuing my academic interests in the natural sciences, specifically Biochemistry, and realizing my dream of becoming a physician
I’ve been playing volleyball since I was nine years old and I fell in love with the sport. I love how a bunch of girls and coaches and others parents become part of your family in less than a year. Volleyball is what keeps me going from time to time. I love playing while having fun. It has been my goal to play college volleyball since I started playing. I think for me playing college volleyball would be the start of my independence and a life goal come true. I want to keep playing volleyball after high school because is fun, competitive, distracting, emotional, dramatic, simple, and sometimes even malicious, but above all it’s a team sport and there is nothing better than the feeling of winning a hardcore game with your teammates. I am a very happy person; I’m very enthusiastic. I keep everyone on their toes and I like having fun. I understand it is a team sport and by just being on the bench cheering my team on to victory I played a part in the match. I’m not like other setters that mostly have all the same movements and mechanics; I have my own things that make me special and different from all the other setters out there. I have my own habits that make and have made me a great setter. I always try to apply the suggestions coaches make to my game and although some may take me a while to apply, I always do. I am a very athletic person. I have played four varsity sports, which include volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball and swimming, and have loved each and every one of them because they have all helped me grown into a better athlete and person
In preparing for the challenges of the collegiate life as an Athlete, where Academics and Athletics need to be balanced, I have gotten involved in several extracurricular activities such as French, Health and Science Clubs. I’m also engaged in community service with a local center for kids with Down syndrome, where I act as activities coordinator. I have enrolled in the most rigorous Honor and AP Courses in my high school, while paying 4 varsity teams and Club Level Teams.
I have been able to balance everything, academics, clubs, community service and sports; without sports, most importantly volleyball, my life wouldn’t be the same. Volleyball is my escape from my everyday routine, it’s what makes my life interesting, fun and daring, volleyball is my life and I would like it to be my life for as long as it can
