Personal Statement
My name is Lexi Morgan Thomas and I was born in Lancaster County Pennsylvania and now live in Rapid City, South Dakota. En route to South Dakota, I've lived in South Central Ohio. My sports career started when I was 5 years old with YMCA Youth Basketball, Soccer and Floor Hockey. After a year trying to figure out what sport I and my brother liked, we as a family were enrolled in Martial Arts [focusing on Bai Kai Kung Fu and Russian Sambo Grappling]. I hold three Martial Arts Belt honors and competed until I was 10 years old in Karate Tournaments and National Grappling Competitions [NAGA and Grappler's Quest]. When I moved to South Central Ohio, I started Girls Middle School Basketball and was asked to work out with the 8th grade girls volleyball team as a 6th grader [since the school didn't have a 6th grade team]. I was later asked to be on a Girls Basketball Traveling Team after the original season which I was involved with for the year I lived in Ohio. 2011 was the final move to Rapid City, South Dakota. My first year, I did Middle School Track and Field. My 8th Grade year I enrolled in Girls Volleyball, Girls Basketall and Track and Field. My ultimate goal is to receive either a Volleyball and/or Basketball Scholarship to college. I am really looking forward to my High School years and in the sports department. Outside of sports, I love being involved with my church and its events. I babysit, hang out with friends and my family. I pray everyday that my dreams will come true after the hardships my mother had to endure until we moved to Rapid City, South Dakota. The competition of female athletes here compared to Ohio and Pennsylvania may be harder, but I welcome the challenge and hope someone will notice me!! I'm very outgoing and love making friends!!
