Personal Statement
Hello, I am Taylor Townley, a junior at Stewarts Creek High School in Smyrna, Tennessee. Volleyball is a very serious and emotional game for me. I put in lots of work on and off the court to better myself and help achieve my goals. I dream of going to college on a scholarship to do what I love which is playing volleyball. My intentions are to do whatever it takes to make that happen. Everyday, I do something with my sport to keep myself ready to play. As a 5'8" outside hitter and 6 rotation player, my main focus is constantly increasing my vertical, speed and agility.
I play for my Club team as an outside hitter and defensive specialist(6 rotation player). I also play sand volleyball for 2 different power leagues, doubles and sixes. My coaches look at me as a leader by example on and off the court. I am a player that takes my volleyball and school work very seriously. I currently have a GPA of 3.875 and I am working on making it a 4.0 or higher by my senior year. I take all advanced honors and AP classes. I want classes that are going to prepare me for college and marine veterinary school. I am also a member of HOSA and FFA at my school and I volunteer at the local nursing homes in my town. My plans for the summer are to volunteer at the aquarium, the zoo, and travel out of state to attend different volleyball camps to experience different coaches and their styles of coaching..... That is, of course , after my team and I "take it all" in the championship in Orlando. :-)
