Personal Statement

When I first touched a volleyball in 7th grade, I immediately knew it was the sport for me. Since then, I have worked hard and loved every second of playing. I started out playing club volleyball for Austin Juniors Volleyball, and played for AJV for 3 years, then switched to Texas Fury Volleyball for 2 years.  I also played on my middle school and high school teams. I have played many positions, including middle, right side, and defensive specialist. I am a smart outside hitter with a strong backrow presence, and I am very coachable and energetic. In March 2015, I tore my ACL, which only helped me because it made me stronger, physically and mentally, and I realized how much this sport means to me. I am a leader on the court, as well as off the court. I am taking multiple Pre-AP/AP classes and exceed in them. My most recent PSAT score is a 1420. I hope to continue my volleyball journey and learn new things.
