Personal Statement
My name is Eleni Perezous, I have been playing volleyball, since I was 12. My primary position in volleyball is setter. The first time I truly fell in love with volleyball was in junior high when I realized how competitive the sport was as well as how much of a team sport it is. Since then, I have dedicated and worked hard both on the court and in the classroom by maintaining my grades with As and Bs only.
My sophomore year, I was privileged to be team selected captain, MVP, as well as Leader Of The Pack. I have been the starting setter for all my years in High School. I also made the Varsity team during my Junior and Senior years and was selected as a second-team All District setter this past season.
I have also played club volleyball since 2013. During my first year in 2013, I played as outside hitter. Second year of club in 2014, I was the starting setter. Third year of club in 2015, I was moved up to the 17s team from the 16s team and was the starting setter. In my 4th year in club in 2016, I was the starting setter and we placed 3rd in the lone star Regionals. This year, it's my fifth year of club, I am a setter on the 18s Southwest Asics team and we hope to qualify for Nationals.
My primary goal is to get the opportunity to play volleyball in college and to get a college degree that will help get into the medical field. I want to experience meeting new people and new places and I believe through volleyball, I will connect with the girls and coaches as well as fellow students. I know for a fact that my dedication, passion, and my morals will help me achieve my ultimate goal.
