Personal Statement

My Name is Rylee Hallford, and I am a Libero/DS for the class of 2021.  I have played volleyball since 1st grade, and love the game and cannot imagine not playing.  I am looking for a college that will provide me both the competitive volleyball and academic excellence. I am an Honors student just completing my sophomore year with a 4.2 GPA.  I work hard to maintain my good grades and take classes to academically challenge myself. The same hard work and dedication that I have to excel in school, is what I take to court.

I am well rounded, coachable volleyball player and over the seasons I have played positions in the front and back row.  I am a vocal defender with great court awareness and possess the skills to be a versatile and dynamic player.  I am dedicated, hard-working, and passionate for the game. I am a team leader that believes in leading by example while on and off the court.  I am a team player who is always supportive and encouraging to my teammates.    I don't make excuses when I make mistakes, but rather than dwell on it, I focus on the next play. When I step on the court, whether it for practice or a game, I will give 110% and leave it all on the court.  I am willing to work harder to further develop my skills to continue to become the best player at the sport I truly love.

My ultimate goal is to play competitive college volleyball while earning my college degree.  I am undecided at this time on a major, but my interests include medical, engineering, or math and science.  I know my education is essential to my future success.  But while attending school, the ability to play college volleyball would be a once in a lifetime opportunity that would teach me invaluable life lessons.  For me playing volleyball is more than being the greatest athlete and working hard to develop my skills; it part of being a team, about accountability, being dedicated and hardworking, and determined while working with a group of girls to achieve the same ultimate goal when we all step on the court.  It’s a family!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
