Personal Statement
Hi... I’m Hannah Moran.
After multiple attempts at several sports including dance, basketball, and swimming I was determined to find an activity that I not only could excel at but one that I truly loved. My parents and grandfather did what they could to help me find this sport and I owe a great deal of my success to them. They raised me with a strong emphasis on Christian morals and values, but most importantly God's Grace. I make it a priority to play on the court with these in mind every day.
At seven years old I found my true passion and love for the game of volleyball. As soon as I stepped foot on the court and touched the ball I knew the sport was meant for me. After a lot of hard work, dedication, and courage I have become who I am today. Though I am definitely not a perfect volleyball player, I have grown a lot as a player and teammate since that day and I still have a lot of growing to do because I believe there is always something new to learn.
Encouragement is a big part of what I think it means to be a good player. I try my best to always encourage my teammates. Volleyball games are rollercoasters and it is important to stay focused when your team is down and lift each other up. Encouraging teammates and staying positive and focused always helps in these situations.
“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” - Walt Disney, is a quote I go by when things are tough and I realize that I won’t give up and keep working towards my goal with no fear. Volleyball has become my life because it is a great way to practice life skills while having fun. When I get to practice or a tournament it makes my day so much better, to be able to play a sport I am so passionate about. I am so fortunate to be able to play such an amazing sport and I owe that blessing to my parents, grandfather, and God.
It is my ultimate goal to be able to continue this passion at the collegiate level.
