Personal Statement
My name is Madysen Williams, but most people call me Maddy. I'm a rising Junior at Brentwood Academy College Preparatory School. I would love to be on a college team that challenges and pushes me to be the best that I can be for myself and for the team. I can play anywhere on the court. I have played Middle, Outside, Right Side, and Libero. I bring a lot of energy and have high expectations for the team I am on. I served as both the team and floor captain of the Alliance 16 Molten team (Dec. 2015 - June 2016), where I played 6 rotations focusing on my primary positions as left front and middle back.
I started playing volleyball at the age of nine. I was trying out a bunch of sports to see how I liked them and volleyball was the one that stuck with me. I love absolutely every second of it. I also run varsity high school track at Brentwood Academy as a sprinter of the 100M and 4x100M relay team. I use track to improve my endurance, speed and jumping abilities for the court.
At Brentwood Academy, I also play as a 6 rotation Outside Hitter/DS. I have played varsity since ninth grade and this past year, my sophomore year, I received the award of Honorable Mention 2AA All-District. I have been nominated by both my volleyball and track coaches for female Athlete of the week representing Brentwood Academy athletes in Williamson County Tennessee. The first time was for track in ninth grade, and the second was for volleyball this past school year (2015/16).
My academic look at Brentwood Academy is normally a 3.2 grade point average. I work very hard to prioritize by completing homework assignments the night they are assigned to stay ahead, so that I'm able to also focus on volleyball practices that are held three times a week. Daily, I meet with my teachers for assistance or review to stay on track and to prove to not only them, but also to myself that I'm doing my best to get the grades that I work so hard to achieve.
