Elisa Ray '14 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Elisa Ray.  I am a 17 year old senior at Cane Ridge High School in Nashville, TN.  I am very passionate and love the game of volleyball.  I have played on the Varsity team for four years.  My main position is Outside Hitter and my secondary position is Defensive Specialist/Libero.  I am the Varsity Team Captain that provides leadership and motivation to my team.  Playing volleyball and just watching the game gets me excited.  It is great to play with teammates and coached by coaches that are just as excited about volleyball as I am.    

Volleyball has changed my life in many ways.  It has given me the motivation to continue to excel in school, being a team player, and dedicated to work harder to play on the college level.  In the seventh grade, I tried out for the volleyball team and did not make it.  I was determined to not let this discourage me from playing the game that I loved.  I kept working to get better and better and made the team in the eighth grade.  From that point, I worked harder on my skills and started to play on a travel team along with high school.  The experience has been exciting as well as fun playing with my teammates. My dream in life is to be able to attend a college or university that provides me the education to pursue Athletic Training while playing volleyball.
