I am a dynamic volleyball athlete. I am skilled at all aspects of volleyball. I am a consistent server, an accurate setter and my hits are getting stronger everyday. One thing that makes me stand out is that I am coachable and I will look my coach straight in the eye to show them that I am acknowledging what they are trying to coach me. When my coach tells me how to improve myself, I will heed her or his advice, no matter what it is. I am an ambitious player who listens, comprehends instruction and when I am shown a new technique I thrive to master it. In the 7th grade, I tried out for volleyball for the first time, and made the 7A team, an experience that helped build my confidence. When I played tennis in the 8th grade I caught on quickly. The varsity coach was so impressed he insisted I play on the varsity team when I entered high school. These are a couple of examples of how I learn quickly because I am coachable. Since my favorite sport is volleyball, I want to learn all there is in the volleyball experience. I have more confidence in myself now because of my past experiences playing sports.
I am also an excellent academic student. I began advanced classes in the 7th grade, continued in the 8th grade, and I am currently still in all advanced classes as a freshman. I excel in all my classes. It is a hard task, but with my parents pushing me, it seems the classes are not as bad. As for a college degree, I am seeking a degree in the medical field, medical engineering or possibly criminal justice.
I have a warm personality that allows me to get along with anyone. I have a diverse group of friends that I am comfortable spending time with off and on the court. I enjoy expanding my horizons with that new sense of self confidence I developed over the years. Teamwork is the most significant asset to any successful program. I am positive that I will make a huge contribution to your volleyball program. I have a generous nature that allows me to be that great team player.
Due to location, I prefer to stay in the state of Texas to continue my education and to play volleyball because I would like to stay close to my family. However, if an opportunity comes to receive a full ride scholarship out of state, I may reconsider. Although my mom might cry because she wants to see all my games.
If a college considers me as a student-athlete through this generous program, I guarantee coaches and facilitators will not be disappointed. I will also be the happiest person in the world. Through tennis and academics I have prepared myself for success in case I can not achieve my dream of a volleyball scholarship. In other words, with my determination, teamwork, my positive qualities, and the hard work I want to put into any volleyball program, I know I can be a great asset to your volleyball program. I look forward to my future, academically and athletically, and if you give me the time to consider me for your program, I am confident you will not be disappointed or be a waste of your time.
