Gabriella Santos (Zaragoza) '16 Recruiting Profile

My goals as an athlete is to play college volleyball and be a starter. I've been playing volleyball since I was in the fifth grade and I love it! And I knew from that day that I want and can achieve something big. For years I've been working out, running, lifting, playing in travel teams, and going to camps. My life revolves around volleyball, but also school. My goals as a student is to graduate top 5% of my class and go to my dream college, UT and major in business. Everything was falling into place my grades were high and my volleyball skills were varsity worthy. March 11, 2013 I unfortunately suffered a ACL tear injury. July 12, 2013 was the day of my surgery and also the road to recovery. I never lost sight in my goals I kept up my grades and even boosted my GPA (my school, Del Rio High School, changed our scale for GPA's). Although, the injury was a set back I didn't give up on my goal to play college volleyball. I am a hard worker, I have the work ethic, and I am a flexible athlete. If I fall 9 times I will get up 10 times. I am hungry for volleyball I want to play college ball and what makes me different from others is I am a go getter, and  if a coach wants me to improve on my skills or academics then I will do it no questions asked. I live for volleyball. As for my academics I am certified in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. I am also a member in NTHS 2014-2015, National Technical Honor Society, and Student Council 2014-2015.
