Mary Gear '18 Recruiting Profile

Hi!  My name is Mary Katherine Gear, but you can call me Katie.  I have been playing volleyball since the third grade and I would like to continue my career in college.  I am all about teamwork and playing as one team and not six individual players.  I will always put my teammates needs and wants before my own.  They are my family and I will do whatever my family needs me to do.  God has blessed me with the athletic ability to play multiple sports which I think helps me to be a better athlete.  I always work my hardest at each practice and give 110 plus percent in each game. He has also given me the strength to maintain a high GPA at a college preparatory school although I am always playing a sport.  I will never play for my name or  my own glory but will always give thanks and the glory to God.  And don't be surprised if you hear me yell Philippians 4:13 to my teammates.  It is my favorite verse and states, "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."
