I fell in love with volleyball my first year of playing in seventh grade, and knew I wanted to continue to the next level. I've come a long way in these few years that I've been active in both school and club, and in doing so I've discovered that I possess qualities and potential that I wouldn't have otherwise realized: confidence, leadership, even tenacity. Each season I push myself to be better....to improve my game, add inches to my vertical, get stronger and faster, and increase my volleyball IQ. Working toward my goals in order to reach the next level, now collegiate, is what I look forward to most every day.
While volleyball is a major aspect of my life, I make sure to maintain balance with academics, holding a 3.92 unweighted GPA from my most recently completed semester at Timber Creek High School. I do my best to apply myself in everything I do and especially my strengths and interests, particularly writing. I've always had a love for words and plan to pursue my passion in college, in hopes of becoming a successful journalist/novelist.
Although volleyball takes up many of my weekends, particularly Sunday mornings, I try to stay involved in my church (Hillside Community Church in Keller, TX), whether it be attending services, teaching Sunday school, or volunteering in local communities. One of my interests is to be active in some level of missionary work, likely because my parents have instilled in me a value of compassion and charity from the time I was very young. I believe it was this early sense of consideration for others that gave me what I needed to be a good teammate, both on and off the court, today.
All in all, I would like to attend a school with a solid, successful volleyball program in which I would have the opportunity to be a valuable contributor; ideally a school of Christian background and a strong journalism program (although it's not a must); in short, a school that will help me find the path to a promising future.
