Personal Statement

My name is Amber Melcher. I always give my whole 100% to everything. I am a strong believer in the quote "Hard work trumps talent, when talent fails to work hard." I may not be the best player on the court but you can guarantee I'm always going to give it my best. This aspect of me has helped me become a 4 time varsity starter and ranked number 2 in my high school class. I am a setter/ds playing my 5th year of club volleyball. I switched from DS to Setter my first club year because there was a need for a one on my team, thus showing I am very versatile player. I loved setting and have stuck with it. I have a passion for volleyball and my goal is to play in college at a level that I can be challenged but still enjoy my love for the game. I want to pursue a career in Medical Lab Technology. I want to grow as both a player and a person and to contribute in everyway possible in the classroom and on the court. I desire a team that has a similar passion and love for the game of volleyball but that are also people with good and strong values. I love the Lord our Father with all my heart and believe that he has a plan for me. I also believe that your image is important. How do you carry yourself? It's easy to be happy and positive when you are winning, but it's while your losing, in the gym conditioning, doing punishment, etc that proves to everyone who you really are. I want to be a person who has a positive, hard working attitude no matter what. I hope to carry these qualities with me everywhere, in the classroom, on the court and later into my life so that I can positively influence the people around me.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
