Personal Statement
Hello Coaches,
Ever since I started playing volleyball I fell in love with it and I decided that I wanted to play in college. I know how to work hard to get what I want in school and in volleyball. I am a straight A student and I work hard to stay that way. My family has taught me that academics come first and without a great education my dreams of becoming a business woman will not happen. Because I started playing volleyball later than most players my age, I had to work hard to catch up with the other girls I was competing against and to earn the confidence and respect of my teammates. I think I have done that but I am not going to stop working hard to get even better. I think my father had a big influence on me. He played football at Indiana University and played pro football for the Raiders, my favorite Steelers, and the Redskins. He said he started just like I did, skinny and behind his teammates. He taught me that you have to work harder than everyone else, every day, to not only get to the next level, but also to stay there. I plan on continuing to work hard to make my volleyball and academic dreams come true.
Sincerely,
Skylar Harrison
