Personal Statement
I have been playing school and club volleyball since I was 12 years old. I know what it means to be a part of a team and to be dedicated and committed to my sport. I started playing volleyball as the smallest girl on my 7th grade team. My first day of tryouts I had worked so hard during the summer and attended enough camps that I was one of only 3 players who could serve the ball overhanded over the net. I have always worked my hardest to be the absolute best player I can be. If that meant paying for extra lessons, attending intensive camps, or putting in the extra time to play open level club teams I did it. To give you an idea of my determination and how I perform well under pressure I will give you an example. It was the second set of a varsity game and we were loosing 24-14. It was my serve. I served 10 points in a row to tie the game. The Hollins College coach was at that game and he asked another parent my name and grade. He then said "that kind of player is who we look for, someone who can perform that well under a lot of pressure." And that is exactly what I do.
