Personal Statement
"Coral’s passion for the game, her work ethic, and her ability to analyze the game from a mental perspective makes her a joy for any coach to work with. She was the youngest player on the team this year, but had the largest competitive drive. That drive allowed her to play various positions successfully this year, including setter, DS, and right side hitter. Although the move to the right side happened late in the season, Coral became one of our most reliable blockers and a key part of our offense. Her ability to set the ball allowed us to diversify our offense and was a great part of our late season success.
I can’t wait to work with her once again because steady improvement like the kind demonstrated by Coral is one of a coach’s biggest rewards."
-Mike Ware, Areyto Volley 16 Head Coach
In college, I hope to play volleyball and get a good education because both areas are such big aspects of my life. I am constantly training to be the best because I won't settle for less, which makes me a hard worker on and off the court. I have such passion for this game that it sometimes becomes hard to balance both school and volleyball because I want to become better in it which I am not afraid to admit because it is something I have to constantly work on. What makes me very different from most players is that I never put less than 110% in every workout, practice, and game. I never give up because I put in four days a week of conditioning and practice every week during club season to win, not to give up on the game that I have found to love. I have found many of my best friends through this sport as well as been given many situations where I have had to learn to deal with coaches and people that don't have the same personalities and outlooks as me. This overall has taught me to be a very coachable player because I am always looking to learn new ways to get better. I will never lose the drive to hustle after every ball and the drive to learn from every situation possible on and off the court. Although I did not have the best grades freshman and sophomore year, I will do extremely better this year because I have put full focus into it. The first step to getting results is admitting the problem and once I did that this year, it was too late. I plan on getting a 4.0 GPA unweighted this year and I will do everything in my power to achieve it because when I put my mind to something, I get it done.
