Personal Statement
I was the worst player on my 7th grade volleyball team. I was fortunate to have been given a chance to play by my coaches. I capitalized on the chance and I worked hard at learning the skills necessary to excel at the sport. I have continued to take every opportunity possible to increase my skill set. In addition to playing for my high school and club teams, I attend volleyball camps, do personal training, and take personal lessons to increase my abilities. There is hardly a day that goes by that I am not actively working on improving my volleyball game. It is a lot of work but I do it all because I truly love the game. Volleyball is not just a game to me. Volleyball has taught me to have a strong work ethic, the value of teamwork, to have more self-confidence, and to be a leader. These are skills that I know will serve me well into the future with my chosen career and my life.
My goal is to be a nurse practitioner. I have always admired people who help others and I would like to use my skills to help others also. I am a very dedicated student who loves to read. I am self-motivated and organized without the need for supervision to make deadlines from my parents or teachers.
I always arrive early and prepared. I believe in leading by example and I treat others the way that I would like to be treated. I know I would be an asset to a college volleyball team because I am a vocal leader, team player, and dedicated to constant improvement. I tenaciously pursue being a winner and champion in volleyball and all that I do.
