Samantha Gibbs '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Samantha Gibbs and I am in love with volleyball. I started playing volleyball freshman year when I was picked for my school's Junior Varsity team. I was shocked when I was told I made the team because I had little to no experience. My coach said that he saw a lot of potential in me and I was grateful that he gave me that opportunity. I realized how hard I had to work, mentally and physically. I fell in love with the sport quickly. I appreciated the mental and physical strength and intelligence that was needed on and off the court. I always try to be happy and uplifting to others on the court because it feels so much better playing that way. After a year of club season, I tried out for my school again and made Varsity as a sophomore. I soon decided that I wanted to play volleyball in college. I strive to be the best I can be on court and in the classroom. I want to grow even more and I believe that playing in college will assist me in that. I cannot wait for my upcoming junior year.
