Personal Statement
My name is Macy Havill and volleyball is my passion! I play volleyball six days a week, I can't get enough of the sport. I am currently an outside hitter for SYAVBC in Northern Virginia and playing college volleyball is my dream. I began playing volleyball in middle school and tried out for my first club team when I was 13 years old. I thought that I might be behind the curve, but much to my surprise, I was selected as one of the top picks that year and my desire to improve only gets stronger each year. I can play multiple positions, outside hitter, middle hitter, I have even played libero, which I think has made me a more rounded player. I am not not your typical teenage girl, I get along with all people, especially people that seem to have a rough time making adjustments to new situations. My Mom says my heart is too big, but I think that is what makes me unique!
I would love to play college volleyball! I am in my Junior year of high school and am working hard to keep my grades competitive and my volleyball skill level high. My club team is hopeful to earn a bid to Nationals (a long time dream) and I am confident that my leadership as a Senior will make our high school team a contender as well. I would like to major in education, which is wonderful because there are so many schools in the country that have great education programs.
