My name is Miah Perez, and I will be graduating from Ellensburg High School in June, 2015. I have played volleyball for 8 years, and have always loved the sport. My goals for the future are to play volleyball and jump in track at the college level. I would love to go into pre-med and study to be an orthopedic knee surgeon. I am very passionate about this because I want to do something I know benefits people; especially athletes. This would also help to keep in touch with athletic part of me, even after any possible collegiate careers are over. The sport is so important to me, and I have never found a better way to relieve any stress, or get away from any problems than playing volleyball. When it comes to volleyball, I crave perfection and I admit that I am hard on myself but I also know that just about all of the sport is mental, and I have worked to be stronger mentally. I understand how much time, effort, and dedication it takes to be a college athlete, and I am 100% willing to make sacrifices for the sport; but I also feel strongly that family and school come first. My grades are important to me, and I do what it takes to be able to balance keeping up my grades, sports, and being able to spend time with my family. No matter what I do, I give 100% of my effort, and I know I won't be perfect, but I strive to be all that I can be.
