Making the choice to try out for my middle school volleyball team was one of the best choices I've ever made. I went from being a shy, nonathletic seventh grader to someone who is outgoing and a leader. I learned a lot from my teammates, including that being confident in myself and being a force to reckon with on the court and on the track is a good thing. Playing sports has also taught me time management, so I know exactly when and how to do things, especially when I play two sports in one season.
I moved to a new school at the start of my sophomore year, which ended up being an amazing experience. I get to go to a school that is much more diverse and have different perspectives from coaches while I practice. It was definitely hard at first, but playing sports made is much easier to adjust and I'm thankful for that. I lead on the court and on the track and I can't to lead and excel even more in the future.
