I believe that what makes a good volleyball player is dedication, the ability to encourage and support your teammates, and the determination to achieve better than the best. Each year I make it my goal to be a better athlete and make it to the next level.
I was a basketball player for many years until I was introduced to volleyball my freshman year. I was inexperienced but knew immediately that this was the sport I wanted to play. I was a quick study on the freshman team and after a summer of hard work and determination I made the Varsity team my sophomore year. That year I played for Capital Volleyball Academy on the twos team for the 16 age group. But I did not stop there, I worked and trained hard to make the Varsity team again, and moved up to the ones team for Capital's 17 team.
I like a challenge and trying new things to help make me a better athlete. Last summer I attended a 5 day Crew Camp even though I had never tried it before. It was hard but I never gave up, I did well and received positive feedback from the coaches. This Spring I made the Varsity LaCrosse team as a new player. I received the Most Improved Player award and All Conference award. Volleyball is my passion but I am not afraid to take advantage of playing other sports to make me be a better, more coachable athlete.
I am a junior at Middleton High School, in Middleton, WI and academics are important to me. I plan on receiving a four year degree with an emphasis on business and entrepreneurship. I am looking forward to finding a college that will not only challenge me as an athlete but as a student as well.
