"I've worked too hard and too long to let anything stand in the way of my goals. I will not let my teammates down and I will not let myself down." - Mia Hamm
I have always enjoyed the challenge of balancing academics and athletics. This quote from Mia Hamm helps to keep me focused on the path I have set for myself: to attend an academically challenging college, work to achieve a great education, and play volleyball at the highest level possible.
On the court, I enjoy the commitment to playing relentless defense. Being a libero/defensive specialist, my teammates cannot perform to the fullest of their abilities unless I can get us in system with a good pass. Placing team success first drives me to continually improve my individual skills. By using logic rather than emotion, I am able to shake off mistakes and mentally prepare for the next play. Playing volleyball in college is one of my lifetime goals because I want to take my game to the next level and push myself to be the best player I can be.
In the classroom, I enjoy learning and am actively preparing myself for medical school. With honors level courses in math and science, I have been able to maintain a 3.88 GPA and high academic honors. I am so blessed to have the opportunities to get a great education at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School and to play volleyball at competitive high school and club levels. I welcome the challenge to excel academically and athletically at the collegiate level.
