Personal Statement
Ever since I was little my parents have taught me the importance of listening, respecting, and showing kindness to others. I have carried that into my experiences with sports my entire life and believe it is important to stick to these values. My family loves to play sports, even during holidays. I fell in love with volleyball after watching my uncle and dad play outside on beach courts, and I remember how exciting it was to watch them smash the ball at each other!
When placed in situations with people I had not met before, I used to be quiet and shy. Throughout my journey in volleyball I have gained leadership skills that have changed who I am as both an athlete and person outside of volleyball. I have also learned to become more coachable and put myself in uncomfortable positions to get better. At this point I am not sure what I will major in college, but for now I enjoy the classes I am taking in high school and plan to continue challenging myself with new classes to decide what I want to do in the future.
