My name is Sarah Colden and I am a 17 year old middle blocker for the class of 2017. I started playing competitive volleyball when I was only 10 years old for First Immanuel Lutheran School. There I learned the basic fundamentals and love of the game that helped my team win second-runner up at the Wisconsin Lutheran Grade School State Championship four years later. I currently attend Port Washington High School, where I started on varsity all four years of high school, and was honored to be named captain my junior and senior seasons. My passion for volleyball has pushed me to work hard, as well as play at a high level. Because of this, I was able to be named most valuable player, as well as North Shore all-conference. The past two years I also lead my team in kills, blocks, aces, as well as hitting percentage. Although I currently play middle blocker, I feel comfortable playing any front row position, and have done so in previous seasons. Each time I walk into the gym I am continually getting better because I am a highly coachable player.
My strong work ethic also relates to my academics. I received admission into National Honors Society in April of 2016, and currently maintain a 4.0+ GPA. My outstanding academics and love of the game makes me different from most athletes. The hours that I put into volleyball I also put into my academics to become a well-rounded student athlete.
