Personal Statement
My name is Madison Marsh, but most people call me Maddi. I have been playing Water Polo since I was 13. The moment I jumped into the water on my first day of practice, I could tell that I loved this sport. I fell in love with the competitiveness and physicality of it all. This made me want to work my butt off to be the best that I could be. I immediately excelled at it, unlike any other sport I had tried before, such as volleyball and softball. By the end of my first season, which was just about the same time as the Junior Olympics, I was already a starter. I made varsity my Freshman year and pushed myself to my limits to stay there. I may not have been a starter that year, but I played at least half of every game in which we competed. My goals as a collegiate athlete are to continue the progress I have made throughout my athletic high school career by competing at the collegiate level, to form long lasting friendships, and contribute however needed to my team. I aspire to make a name for myself and succeed in both college and sports. I may not be the best student, but I am working my hardest this year to improve my grades dramatically. I am very reliable and a great teammate. I encourage everyone in a positive manner and always look for ways for my team to improve. I also keep a high level of intensity and competition during every practice, game, and workout. I am really looking forward to my college water polo experience.
