Lilyanna Larson '22 Recruiting Profile

I’m a Junior in high school where I’ve swam and played water polo for my Varsity teams since I was a Freshman.  I'm known for my counterattacks, speed and steals.  My teams are like family to me and I love spending time with them in and out of the pool!   I’m passionate about the ocean as well. I’ve been in the Huntington Beach Jr. Lifeguard program since I was 9 until I was 15. I achieved the highest rank of "1st Lieutenant" every year. This last Summer I tried out for the City of Newport Beach Lifeguards, which was a rigorous physical and academic program and beat out over 100 other candidates. Since I was 16 I‘ve been part of the Newport Beach Fire Dept and a “First Responder” as an Ocean/Beach lifeguard working the towers of some of the busiest beaches in all of the country. I am also a Junior Lifeguard instructor for the City of Newport Beach and even volunteered for the Sand Crab Program of 6-8 year olds last year and received the Sand Crab Service Award. I was also selected to be part of an elite team that traveled to New Zealand in 2019 for three weeks as part of a Junior Lifeguard exchange program where I earned my Bronze Medallion, which is an international certification for lifeguarding.

My senior year we were runner up for CIF SS Div 2 where I was named First Team, All CIF.  I was also named to the 2022 LA TimesWater Polo Dream Team with an area record of 133 goals.  I was also named Team Captain of my Swim Team.  In addition, I also received the Nick Johnson Inspiration Award at ODP Nationals where our team placed 5th.  I also received the Golden Key Award for Athletics, was inducted into the Edison High School Athletic Hall of Fame and received the 4 x 4 Award for all 4 years on Varsity Swimming and Water Polo. I had an amazing Senior Year! :)

I am currently in a Business and Communications program at my school which is similar to MUN. CIBACS (Center for International Business and Communications Studies) is a major part of my academics in High school as I have been in CIBACS English and History for three years now. I’ve developed a website, interned for a company and started a business in this program.  I am looking for a school that has a Communications, Business or Marketing Major that can help me achieve my academic and eventually my career goals.

I’m also interested in a school that has a great campus life, as I want to experience all that college has to offer. I am a hard worker and have a very strong work ethic. I am also very patient and eager to learn. I would love to be part of a team that treats each other like family. I’m looking to develop my water polo game in college and play for a team and a coach that can help me reach my full potential.
