Jazmin Bale '16 Recruiting Profile

Hi! Im Jazmin Bale, and I currently attend Harbor High School in Santa Cruz CA. I just started my junior year and this will be my third year playing Water Polo. My position is 2M-O. I actually first learned how to play from our boys team at Harbor, do to girls not having summer practice that year. So I went to practice with the boys, which these practices for me were just learning the game in general. I dreaded every day, to go practice with boys, but I dragged myself there anyways and I thank myself for that everyday. As days went by, then weeks, I started to fall in love with the sport. When the season rolled around, I knew most of what I was doing. For my first year of water polo I got to play on Varsity and every year since. I believe that because I was on varsity, started every game, and played mostly the whole game I took tremendous strides to get were I am now. I loved water polo so much I started playing year round. I started to play year round club, Wax-em, with Marcelo Adas (831-359-6444). I had a fantastic time and this resent summer we entered into the 16u Junior Olympics. I still plan to keep playing year round with him and see where he takes us next. Marcelo is actually the one who got me into playing 2M-O. i was hesitant at first but i improved a lot and have been doing quite well i believe. I know there are still things i can work on and that there is always room for improvement so i am not sad to say that i am perfect. but i put my all in and i still am learning things and that is what i believe what this sport is about but most importantly, life.Some of the awards I have received throughout my water polo career was Freshman-of-the-Year, Second Team All-League, and the Quantum Leap award awarded by my teammates my freshman year. My sophomore year I made first team All-League, The stinky Rose for All-Tournament, and was awarded the Coaches Award by my coach. For my junior year I made first team All-League, most valuable offensive player, and my team got second in league.
