Personal Statement
2018 - Missouri Female Water Polo Player of the Year, and the only female chosen for All Conference and All District Teams.
I am a lefty and have been playing water polo competitively for six years. I’m a starter for my co-ed Varsity High School team, and I am the only female on the team as well. I play year round with clubs in my area, and I have traveled to Michigan the past two years to play and compete with the 18u Spartan’s Water Polo Club girls team. Together we won the 2017 SEP Invite in Orlando, the 2017 Great Lakes Classic and we competed in the Championship Division at Junior Olympics. I was also chosen as my High School team’s Defensive MVP and I competed with the 2018 ODP All-Star Team.
In addition to water polo, I have been a competitive swimmer since I was seven. I have qualified and competed every year of high school in the MSHSAA State HS Swimming and Diving Championships and my team has placed high every year. We have also been undefeated in duals and we have been Conference Champions since I was a freshman. I was honored to have been chosen as Captain my junior year and I was chosen to lead again next year. My other individual accomplishments this year include qualifying for every state cut, placing 8th in the 200 IM and 15th in the 100 Free at State, and being chosen as my team’s MVP.
I am passionate about water polo and I know I want to play in college. I constantly work to improve my skills and I lift at Crossfit to improve my strength. I am a dedicated student in school with honors and AP classes. I am also in a program for gifted students as well as National Honors Society. I feel I am an excellent candidate because I am a fierce competitor in and out of the pool. I have speed, endurance, experience, and a strong knowledge of the game. I know I can compete and succeed at the college level.
