Personal Statement
To introduce myself, my name is Chris Leatherman. I am 2x 7a State Qualifier for the state of Alabama. This year I competed at the USAW Fargo National Tournament. I won 3 matches while I was up there competing. I am also scheduled to compete in Preseason Nationals along with the Super 32 Challenge. I have a great work ethic, I am very dependable, and determined. I never back down from a challenge. I can take anything thrown at me, and will overcome it without doubt or hesitation. What separates me from my opponents, is that I work hard at everything I step up to, from cutting the grass, to sacrificing my entire summer training away from home getting ready to dominate. My goal is to compete on the next level, and I firmly believe I will get there.
My number one aspiration is to compete as a collegiate wrestler. I believe that if you want to be the best, than you can; this being said, I believe I am capable of rising to that position. I will never stop working, on and off the mat. I am always open to help out someone needing anything at any time. I have a good character, and am pretty good about reaching out to others. I work well with others, and have integrity. I can follow directions with no questions asked; I am a very coachable athlete.
I take primarily honors classes, and do well. I have taken the ACT once, and scored a 25. I plan on taking the test multiple times in the future to improve my score along with ACT Prep classes. I would like to major in buisness, but am undecided as to what in specific I would like to narrow it down to.
I know I have what it takes to compete at a collegiate level, and if not, I guarantee I will stop at nothing to acquire what does. I am all around a balanced wrestler; I see myself as good at being very explosive and agressive on my feet; on top I do well as a position wrestler. I run tilts, mills' halfs, and wings, ect. . Off of bottom is where I see myself as separating from the competition; I am seen as excelling at granby rolls, peterson's, and variations of a standup. I hope you will consider me, and I look forward to hearing from you!
