Personal Statement
When I was in the third grade, I read at a kindergarten level. With the help, guidance and support of several amazing teachers, I, now, read at a grade 12+ level. All of my life, I've had amazing teachers who taught me how to do many things, while explaining to me the ways I learn best. Whether I have conveyed my gratitude, or not, I have always been very thankful. I believe that the very best way I can repay those who have taught me, is by helping other kids who have the same challenges that I did. I want to be the teacher that kids cannot wait to see in class, while making a difference in their lives daily. I hope that one day I can help kids in the same manner that all of my teachers have helped me in my formative years. I owe so much to them!
What also makes me different from other recruits is that I have grown up in a military family. In doing so, I have grown up in perhaps our society's most diverse environments. Though I wrestle as an individual, the spirit of team play has been commonplace in my life. Moving from place to place, with my family, I have easily assimilated into a new neighborhood, school, and social environment. I feel that this quality highlights that I can easily join your school and team. I've also learned to balance in my life. I believe as a student/athlete at any institution, I can successfully balance my academic and athletic requirements!
