Joshua Smith '18 Recruiting Profile

I started wrestling at 11 years old at Belvidere Central Middle School. Since then I have been inspired to wrestle at collegiate level. I realize wrestling is a wonderful opportunity that could open many doors to my future and change my life.

I’m diligently working hard to improve my skills to become a faster and stronger wrestler. I am a leader on and off the mat. I believe in leading by example and continue to be a positive role model to my peers. One of my strongest attributes as a wrestler is encouraging my teammates and staying positive. I'm confident that I will be the hardest working student and athlete recruit you’ll find.

In the classroom I work and study hard currently maintaining a high GPA of 2.7. Last year I volunteered at Dalton Kitchen feeding the homeless during Christmas.

I want to attend a college where I can continue my education and become a great wrestler. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. My hope and dream is to become an excellent role model to all my peers and continue motivating myself to be the best.
