Personal Statement
Currently I am entering my senior year of high school coming off of a third place finish at the 2013 State Tournament. I know the value of hard work and I am prepared to meet the challenges that lay ahead. From a young age, I learned the value of hard work. My dad is a great example of this as he has worked hard his whole life. When I was seven, my parents bought their first home, which in Hawaii is especially difficult. Since then, I've worked along side my dad all the way from pouring the concrete to installing the shingles.
I work just as hard in my academics as I do on the mat. I've earned an overall GPA of 4.1 so far and just learned that I scored a three on both of the AP classes I took last year: Language and Composition & Environmental Science. Just knowing that I've earned 18 college credits makes me proud of the work I've done and not to mention the money I've saved my parents.
Math is my favorite subject so I am considering pursuing an engineering degree. I'm also thinking about working on a law degree. Since I am well aware of the value of hard work, I am preparing myself both mentally and physically for my senior year.
My goal is to continue to maintain my focus so that I will earn first place in the State Tournament this year, increase my GPA, and work along side my dad to finish our home before I head off to college.
