Personal Statement

My name is Braeden Dickinson and I love the sport of wrestling!  I am currently 17 years old and a junior in high school.  Every day I am working to get better.  My dream is to compete at the collegiate level and to some day train for the Olympics.   What sets me apart from other wrestlers is my drive and dedication to always getting better.  I am a leader in the wrestling room and I push myself and others everyday to get better. The other wrestlers at my school look to me as a captain in the room.  If you talk to the coaches that know me I think you will find that I am extremely coachable and driven to excel. I will not accept failure, and when I do loose a match it motivates me to work harder. There are a lot athletes that are not willing to put the time and effort into the classroom and practice room.  I am 100% committed to both.  My greatest accomplishment so far is finishing in the top 8 in Fargo at Cadet Nationals in 2016 and earning All-American status.  I just finished my junior year of high school.  My record was 45-5 and I am now a 3 time state placer.  I fell short of my goal of winning a state title after losing to another Fargo All-American in the semifinals who I beat earlier in the year.  This said, I battled back to take 3rd and I am now motivated to get that much better and win it next year!  Although I have not won a state title,  I have a number of wins over state champions.  I love big matches and have won some big matches in my high school career over guys I was not supposed to beat. I am excited to see what the future holds, and I hope you will consider me for your program.  I have included some video links on my profile and would be happy to provide more video upon request.  Please don't hesitate to contact me.

Losing in the semifinals was heartbreaking as I had my eyes set on a state title. This said, I battled back to take 3rd to cap off another exciting season. Training

  • Suples and DTA Wrestling
  • 5 years
  • I train 6 days a week at the gym and have shown tremendous growth over the past 3 years. The first year I attended Nationals as a schoolboy I failed to win a match. This year I was an All-American at Cadet Nationals in Fargo. I work very hard and I am driven to be the best I can be. I truly love the sport of wrestling and I put everything I have into it. I love to compete and seek out tough competition. Elite competition makes me better. Wrestling is the last thing I think about when I go to bed each night and the first thing I think about in the morning!
