Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Zeb Throne.  I am 5'8 and currently 170 pounds, but my weight varies during the off-season and wrestling season.  I have had seven years of wrestling experience.  My high school team was state D1 champs in 2011 and state runner-up in 2012.  Besides wrestling in season, I start wrestling right after the season ends through the summer, and I lift, run, and train.  I also go in early in the morning during the last two months of wrestling season to improve my technique and strength.  I have played football for almost seven years to help improve my strength, speed and skills.  I also run and lift weights for football four days a week before school from December through August each year.  In the last year, I have taken up boxing because it has always interested me, and it enhances my agility and hand-eye coordination.

It is my dream to wrestle in college.  I am open to DI, DII, DIII or NAIA schools, big or small.  I am willing to consider schools in all parts of the country, whether they be public, private or Christian.  My desired occupation is to be an athletic trainer, accountant or funeral director.  My goal by my senior year of high school is to be a state champ individually, and for college, to be in the top ten in the nation by junior or senior year.  Financial assistance will be important because I will have at least one other person in my family in college at the same time as I am.

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
